And The Curious Garden Grew…
Today we brought seedlings to the We Play Center to share our love of growing. Not only did Mama’s get to take some home for their personal gardens, but the idea of a children’s garden at the site was planted! We are delighted that this wonderful free service to families is now considering building a raised bed for the littles to explore nature while they play at the center!
After our play date we discussed the benefits for children to be involved with nature at a young age and the various types of raised garden beds that could easily be installed to incorporate STEM based learning opportunities for children. The staff here is filled with the most thoughtful and kind individuals, it’s always a delight to visit. We’ll be checking in to see if they need any volunteers to make it happen.
Gardening is about planting a seed and nurturing it with the hope that it grows. We are happy to be planting the seeds of more gardens popping up in New Orleans at such a valuable resource to our community. After all, it’s all about future generations when you plant something.
Special thanks to Imbue Farm for sharing their crops with our garden!
